Walking into Chunky Bear Coffee Roasters is like walking into a friend’s living room. You’ll find various spaces throughout the shop where you can gather for a relaxing cup of coffee with friends.
Known for the seasonal specialties, I visited in autumn and loved the apple cider chai. My daughter is a Red Bull fanatic and was pleased with the Harvest Red Bull. While roasting their beans on-site, they get their baked goods from Annie’s Baked Goods.
For a quick grab-and-go bite, try one of their muffin tops. Their paninis or charcuterie spreads are good options if you’re looking for something more substantial.

Owl Eye Coffee Roasters
Aaron Fekete began working as a barista at the age of 12. Today, he owns Owl Eye Coffee Roasters. He’s worked and learned about the coffee business in Indonesia and returned to his hometown of Cadillac to raise his family and grow his local coffee business.
Owl Eye Coffee Roasters crafts its blends using specialty-grade coffee from around the world. Fekete’s passion for coffee helps him put a creative spin on his products. Their best seller is the Owl Eye Original Blend, a darker roast with the bitterness of dark chocolate and hints of sweet smoke. This isn’t your typical painfully sharp dark roast. It’s smooth and acid-free.
Take a moment to discuss your preferences with the barista. Although I’m not typically a coffee drinker, I thoroughly enjoyed the mocha they created.
The café is a light and bright room where you can sit, work, and enjoy a pleasant coffee experience.

Michigan Coffee Co. is a cozy, welcoming spot just off M-115 that feels like a community living room as much as a café. Known for rich, well-crafted espresso drinks and creative specialty lattes, it is a must-visit when exploring the best coffee shops in Cadillac, Michigan. They also serve Owl Eye Roasters’ blends. Guests rave about the consistently friendly service, relaxed vibe, and flavorful coffee that appeals to even serious caffeine lovers. Beyond the drinks, you will find house-made baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and light lunch options, plus locally made jams, syrups, and other Michigan products. I stopped by for lunch and enjoyed a ham-and-cheese panini and an iced tea. The perfect place to grab a quick light lunch. It’s an easy place to linger with free Wi‑Fi and comfy seating.

While Piper is a lifelong Michigander, she’s had adventures worldwide. Bomb-sniffing dogs chased her in the middle of the night in Bogota (working late), gate agents refused her boarding to Paraguay (wrong visa), and US Marshals announced her seat number on a plane while looking for a murder suspect (she’d traded seats). It’s always an adventure! She even finds exciting activities in her home state of Michigan, where she lives in Lansing with her husband, Ross Dingman, her daughter, Alexis, and two granddaughters.
